Meeting underground robots

On June 11, a group of our employees participated in an excursion to the Underground Laboratory as part of the event Robotics in the Underground, which is run by the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University, our partner projects with public funding. News from digitalization, automation and eco-friendly approaches to mining construction were presented. Then there was research on nuclear waste disposal.

We are focusing on process automation, for example, as part of a publicly supported project "Use of virtual tracks to increase the safety, reliability and efficiency of autonomous vehicles". The objective of the project is to develop a paint that might be used as a virtual rail for the guidance of autonomous vehicles in urban environment, to conduct research focused on safety, reliability, functionality, resiliency, and effectivity of virtual rails for autonomous vehicles, develop a sensor system adapted to detect virtual tracks. d) develop a control and location system that will safely maintain the vehicle in virtual track direction, and to define the technical requirements and architecture for a system enabling vehicles platooning (virtual tram).
